I haven’t listened much to Danial Johnston, but i totally love this song of his, which i believe in the first song of his first album – the song, to me, is like it WHISK ME AWAY, to some seldom meadow, in some PSYCHEDELIC WONDERLAND – the song is depicting SOMETHING BY A NOTION; JUST “WALKING THE COW”, as a reality FAR BEYOND THE MAELSTROM:
I just LOVE that vision, that IMAGE, of just walking the cow – as the song conveys, love that vision of Johnston’s – it’s almost like PSYCHEDELIC – i mean, the whole REALITY is like something you don’t just find among the hustle bustle of the crowded ordinary world of our PEOPLE-PERSON-SOCIETY, it’s far beyond the GOVEREND WORLD, it’s like a LOVELY, A PIQUANTLY-SELDOM, REALITY – taking place in some VOID from the maelstrom, A REFUGE FROM THE MAELSTROM – the whole song is like a lullaby for dreaming-away from the REAL WORLD, and be carried-away from THIS HUMAN-WORLD, to some other REALM.
As the scene of walking the cow, maybe pick some flowers, maybe build a small camp-fire and heat up some beans and fry some sausages, and to; be TOTALLY LIKE in some dream of just yourself and the cow – SORT OF, A PLEASANT ACID TRIP, LIKE SOMETHING FAR OUT IN DREAMLAND SOMEWHERE IN NEITHERWORLD – BEYOND THE MAELSTROM…walking the cow, in a harmonious world..a green and peaceful OTHERWORLDLY REALM..
